Louis Hubert Farabeuf was a French surgeon who is said to have introduced hygiene in French medical schools. His statue dominates the central court of the National School of Medicine in Paris whose main amphitheater is also named after him. Farabeuf wrote some short surgical booklets (précis).

In Louis Hubert Farabeuf (1841-1910), a French surgeon that among other texts wrote the "Précis de manual opératoire". In this book Salvador Elizondo (1932-2006) imagines the understanding of death, of writing, of eroticism and beyond. Through Elizondo's associative photography the image of the tortured also becomes the presence of the spectators who watch their own death.
