In a forest river, hunters find the body of a young singer named Yanka Diaghilev. From that moment on, a confusing chronicle of the last day in the girl's life begins, during which she will travel a long way - from the city to the dacha, and then into the thicket to the river. On this day, Yanka will have time to see and talk with many people, real and imaginary, even with those who are no longer alive. It seems that Yankee's next step is about to shed light on the circumstances of her mysterious death: hopeless love, arguments with loved ones, disagreements with herself, strange meetings with strangers in the forest.

Some weekdays in the life of literature teacher Tamara, which hold nothing surprising for her. It is the story about the narrowness of the space of life with insufficient choice.

The plot of the film is based on the large-scale reconstruction of the historical building of the HPP-2 power plant on Bolotnaya Embankment under the direction of architect Renzo Piano and the transformation of the power plant into a cultural institution and a cultural house of the V-A-C foundation, founded by Leonid Mikhelson. For five years, the process of fixing this reincarnation was carried out. The basis of the shooting method was the desire to show big events through the prism of the interaction of art and life of the construction site and the V-A-C foundation, through small details, through the people who are doing it all.

A couple for whom physical proximity doesn’t mean spiritual closeness at all, make their way to a family event outside the city ; a disagreement over a mundane issue forces them to stop, yielding an unexpected yet predictable discovery.

In the regional centre Kuznetsky the mayor has been killed in his office. The murderer is Dimur Kavsadze, in charge of commercial construction work for the city administration. A squall of public concern beleaguers the city. Alexander Danilin is an undercover curator, an intermediary between the business and the authorities; he tries to eliminate trouble and return life to normal. The cause of the tragedy was a construction project, which wrapped itself around Kuznetsky like a tumour, and which was a source of profit for the authorities and the local builders. The construction “devours” free land, the souls of people and even what seems beyond the law of profit: the family. Neither the death of people, nor common sense can stop the construction…

At first glance she is just an ordinary woman, but every couple of months her normal life comes to a halt. Unbeknownst to her loved ones, she goes on a long journey. She jumps from one type of transportation to another, carefully covering up her tracks and building a web of lies during her phone conversations. What is on her mind and what is the purpose of this journey?
