2005年6月、タリバンの幹部アフマド・シャーが潜伏しているという情報に基づき、米海軍の特殊部隊ネイビー・シールズから選抜されたラトレルら4人のチームはアフガニスタンの山岳地帯に乗り込むが、現地の電波状態が悪いために孤立する。さらに、遭遇した現地の一般人たちを殺すかどうかで4人の意見は分かれる。直後、4人は200人以上からなるタリバンの攻撃を受け、支援チームを乗せたヘリが現地に送り込まれるが…。
