弁護士として成功し、裕福な家庭を築いた黒人男性マーキス。ある日、父親の訃報を聞いた彼は、家族とともに自家用セスナで遠い山奥にある故郷へ飛び立った。だが、途中落雷で飛行機が墜落、マーキスは故郷に近い山中の小村で、親切な夫婦に助けられる。家族の無事が心配なマーキスだが、けがで体が動かず、この家には電話すらない。やがて彼は、ここが不気味な呪術が支配する村で、自分が監禁されている事実に気付くのだが……。

留置所の檻の中と思しき場所で目を覚ました男は、自分が何者なのかも思い出せない記憶喪失になっていることに気付く。隣の独房には女がおり、「我々は侵略された」と言う。ひょんなことから、自分がアメリカ軍の兵士だったらしいことがわかり、医師だという女とともに檻の外に出ることができた男だったが、そこには見たこともないロボットが人々を襲う光景が広がっていた。
