妻に先立たれ娘家族と同居することになった老人エド。大好きなおじいちゃんと一緒に暮らせると喜ぶ孫のピーターだったが、お気に入りの子ども部屋を彼に明け渡し、自分は屋根裏部屋に引っ越すことになると知り不満が爆発。おじいちゃんを追い出すべく容赦ないイタズラを開始する。一方のエドも孫の攻撃をおとなしく受けているだけではなかった。悪友のジェリーらを巻き込み、手の込んだ仕返しを次々と繰り出していく。
