Why are we still able, today, to view images that were captured over 125 years ago? As we enter the digital age, audiovisual heritage seems to be a sure and obvious fact. However, much of cinema and our filmed history has been lost forever. Archivists, technicians and filmmakers from different parts of the world explain what audiovisual preservation is and why it is necessary. The documentary is a tribute to all these professionals and their important work.

Ignacio is a film director who, together with Mexican screenwriter Rogelio,are starting the preparation for their next film: "The Crystal Mask". The story is based on a real event in Mexico City at the time when Rogelio lived in the Margarita Maza de Juárez homeless shelter for children. In order to start production, it is necessary, once again, the financial assistance of the director's mother.

Five brothers first opened the bar "Onis" in 1976 after migrating to Madrid in the early 1970's from a village in the North of Spain. The possibility of making money brought them into the hospitality business in the big city. Since the opening of the "Onis" forty years ago, they have worked together almost every single day.
