1960年代。3歳のボク（オダギリジョー）は、真夜中に玄関の戸を蹴破って帰ってきた酔っぱらいのオトン（小林薫）にいきなり焼き鳥の串を食べさせられてしまう。オトンに手を焼いたオカン（樹木希林）はボクを筑豊の実家に連れ帰り、妹の“ブーブおばさん”の小料理屋を手伝いながら、女手一つでボクを育て始めるのだった。
