Two soon-to-be kamikaze pilots stop by a local school near their base to play the piano one last time, leaving a deep impression on a teacher. Years later, she seeks out the relatives of the pilots when the piano is old and about to be discarded.

This gripping docudrama is a fictionalized account of what could happen to a Japanese family when one of their sons shames them in front of the entire nation.

The 21-year-old feudal on Sendai, Tsunamune Date, was prohibited to go out in the daytime for his misbehavior during his short stay in Edo. On the next day, his 4 attendants were killed one after another. Sakai Utanokamike, the Rozyu, is turned out to be involved in this scheme, and the aim is to destroy the Date family. Tsunamune's brother Munekatsu Date who is willing to take over the family doesn't know the real purpose of Utanokami and helps him. Munesuku Harada gets to know the whole picture of the incident and takes action alone for the sake of protecting the Date family, leaving his own family. 「怪談」の小林正樹監督が三船敏郎と初タッグを組み、1967年・第28回ベネチア国際映画祭で国際映画批評家連盟賞を受賞した時代劇。同監督作「切腹」の原作小説「異聞浪人記」で知られる滝口康彦の短編小説「拝領妻始末」をもとに橋本忍が脚色を手がけ、武家社会の非人間性を描く。会津松平藩馬廻り役の笹原伊三郎は、主君・松平正容の側室いちを長男・与五郎の妻に拝領するよう命じられる。息子の幸福な結婚を願う伊三郎は断ろうとするが、藩命に背くことはできず受け入れることに。望んだ結婚ではなかったものの、与五郎といちの間には愛情が芽生え、子どもにも恵まれる。しかし正容の嫡子が急死したことから、新たな世継ぎとなった菊千代の生母であるいちを大奥へ返上するよう命令が下される。

During the 1880's a young swordsman, Saotome Gengo, on his way to Tokyo stops at an inn in a small town. But he does not know that his prowess has already attracted envious attention and that Senzo, the boss of the local gang, plans to have him killed. Seiji, the disowned son of the innkeeper, has run up a big gambling bill and, to settle it, the hoodlums decide to kill him. He is saved, however, by Hanako, star of the dancing troupe also staying at the inn. Gengo meets Hanako and learns that the troupe cannot open their show because the local police corruptly demand too much of the receipts. After another fight, Gengo sees the police-chief on behalf of the troupe, but is refused. So he suspects that the police and the hoodlums are implicated with each other. There seems no way to open the show until they hear that the governor is coming to the town for a local banquet. They appeal to him and he promises to investigate. It is decided that a duel will settle the matter...

Set during the last days of the Tokugawa (Edo) Period, Moeyo-ken tells the story of Hijikata Toshizo and the Shinsengumi. Hijikata Toshizo is a samurai eager to test his skills and sword and make his first kill. The dojo he belongs to practices the Tennen Rishin style and teaches this to farmers. Not considered real samurai by other dojo's, they receive a request for a duel by a rival dojo practicing the Kogen Itto style. Sohaku Rokusha, a teacher there, challenges them and fights with Hijikata Toshizo. The outcome of the fight creates a deadly animosity between them that lasts through the ages.

江戸の名物男は義賊、鼠小僧の次郎吉（北大路欣也）。盗みはすれど非道はせず。盗んだ金はすべて貧しい人々にわけ与え、江戸っ子仲間の憧れの的となっていた。だが有名になればニセ者が横行するのは世の習いで、殺人強盗の汚名を着せられた次郎吉は岡っ引きの十手に追われ、吉原のとある料亭に逃げ込んだ。その一室で大盤振る舞いをしていたのは北町奉行所近江雅楽頭の長男、銀八郎（松方弘樹）。「ニセ者を捕まえねえことには男がすたる」と言い切る次郎吉に「まず江戸を離れろ」と言って逃がしてやる。恋人や子分に別れを告げ、東海道を行く次郎吉は、箱根の関所で役人に追われ山中に逃げ込む。そこで関所破りで追われる銀八郎と再会する。銀八郎は、遊興三昧で父の怒りを買い、勘当されたのだった。旅はきまぐれ足まかせ。すっかり意気投合した若い二人は弥次サン、喜多サンと名を改め、珍道中が始まった。

In this tale of bravery and honor among the roving gamblers of old Japan, the heroic Jirocho, Boss of the Tokaido is called upon to help a young yakuza named Eijiro after he runs afoul of the new samurai officials who have taken over his hometown. Expertly portrayed by Kitaoji Kinya (son of the all-time great star Ichikawa Utaemon), this young man stands up for the townspeople and puts his life on the line. Jirocho, played by superstar Nakamura Kinnosuke, a boss known for his honor and valor soon finds himself involved in the feud which will only end in a brutal showdown.

An exciting historical drama that dynamically depicts the life of Minamoto no Yoshitsune from the period of his stay on Mount Kurama to his reconciliation with his brother Yoritomo.
