優等生でスポーツ万能な学生ニック。父デヴィッドにとっては自慢の息子であり、父と再婚相手カレンの間に生まれた幼い弟と妹にとっても良き兄だった彼は、ふとしたはずみでドラッグに手を出してしまう。最初は軽い気持ちだったが、気づいたときには底なしの泥沼から抜け出せなくなっていた。そんなニックの深刻な薬物依存を知ったデヴィッドは、息子の更正を信じて彼のリハビリを懸命にサポートするのだったが…。
