ある日、捨てられた人たちの島・階段島に、七草(横浜流星)が突然やってくる。島を出るにはなくしたものを見つけなければならなかったが、疑問さえ抱かなければ平穏に暮らすことができる。そんな中七草は、幼なじみの真辺(飯豊まりえ)に出会う。真辺は島から出るため、七草たちを巻き込んで島の謎を解明しようとする。
