Vasyl Dashenko (1916–1985) was a Ukrainian theater and film actor. He played over a hundred different roles on stage, appearing in a number of films from the late 1930s onward.

The film features the first appearance on the silver screen of the iconic Ukrainian actor Ivan Mykolaichuk (as Taras Shevchenko).
