Born in Cairo. He achieved his degree from the high institute of cinema majoring in directing.He worked in the radio in 1969 then in 1970 he worked in the theater where he was part of the play " The Minister's wife" He later on produced alot of plays for theater then moved on to TV in 1970 where he directed his first series "The Killer". He did many more movies after that and he received an award for his role in the movie "Why Alexandria" later on he took a prize for the national cinema contest, for being part of the play "Lock your girls in". He married the actress "Nesreen" and then decided to step out of the spot lights.
