ニコラス・ケイジ主演によるクライムドラマ。コロンビアで生産されアメリカへ陸路で輸送される高純度のコカインに、何者かが途中で不純物を混ぜていることが判明した。カナダに拠点を置く麻薬組織のベテラン運び屋ザ・クックは、その犯人を探し出すようボスに命じられ、密輸ルートをたどりながら調査を続けていく。共演に「マトリックス」シリーズのローレンス・フィッシュバーン、「グリーンマイル」のバリー・ペッパー、「パリ、恋人たちの2日間」のアダム・ゴールドバーグ。監督・脚本は、元ネイビーシールズ隊員という異色の経歴を持つジェイソン・カベル。
