Maria Gianandrea

Maria, a provincial Polish girl, travels to Milan to pay her older sister Eva a surprise visit. The sisters haven't seen each other in seven years and Eva has changed a lot. She lives in a luxurious apartment and dresses in designer clothes. Although she pretends to be an interpreter, Eva is actually a call-girl and, one night, fails to return from an appointment. Maria enquires at the hotel where Eva last worked. Eva's body is soon found. The investigation is conducted by Inspector Messina, a trendy cop. Maria and Messina become an inseparable investigating team. Maria poses as a call-girl in order to reveal her sister's killer and they use mobile phones to keep in touch.

In a small Tuscan village that's waiting for the local festival to commence, amidst confusion about the fall of Communism, the lives of some dazed characters intertwine.

A young busker goes around in Milan with his saxophone, whereby he always plays the same tune and he experiences surrealistic adventures throughout the big city. Meanwhile, a wealthy woman from the local "jet set" falls in love with him.

Seven orphan cavemen grow up on a little island all by themselves. After a fire burns all vegetation they set out to find a new place to live.

ヤコペッティ監督が約3年の歳月を費やし、独立運動が激化したアフリカ諸国の混迷の様を捉えたドキュメンタリー。おなじみの“やらせ”疑惑が論じられた一方で、終盤のコンゴ動乱では傭兵たちによる略奪・虐殺の一部始終を撮影。さらに本物の処刑シーンまでフィルムに収めたため、ヤコペッティ監督が殺人教唆の罪で告訴される事態に。イタリア司法局の調査により無罪となったが、本作を最後にヤコペッティはドキュメンタリーの撮影をやめてしまった。
