郊外の住宅街に住む主婦のサラは、近所の公園で司法試験の合格を目指す子連れの主夫ブラッドと出会った。いつしかお互いに惹かれあい、気持ちを抑えきれなくなっていくふたり。そんな中、街では元受刑者のロニーが釈放され問題となっていた。ブラッドの友人で元警官のラリーは、子供たちを守るためにロニーを糾弾するビラを街中に貼りまわる。それぞれが日常から少しずつはみ出した行動をとりはじめる街の人々。それはまさに“大人になりきれない大人たち”の行動。やがて街は大きな事件に巻き込まれていく…。
