Even though Istedgade has changed a lot over the past few years, there are still traces from the times when the notorious street in Vesterbro was Copenhagen's own red light district. For the three people we meet here, the street is also their second home. 48-year-old Mette, 34-year-old Wesley and 26-year-old Danny share a drug addiction and a harsh upbringing in common. But they are also human beings with a story to tell, and in 'Gaden' we are for once told the stories from them directly, and over the course of two years. Their escape, the drugs and their unconventional community – with Istedgade as the rough background which ties their (life) stories together.

A psychologically introspective documentary about the famous Danish queer video artist Knud Vesterskov. As a pioneer of the video art form in Denmark, Knud used his ambiguous sexuality to explore different forms for provocations. Through his visually transgressive and formally experimental film works, he has tried to break down every conceivable cultural, political and sexual taboo in Danish society.
