Lawyer Fröhlich has specialised in divorce cases and has become a star in this field. Along the way, he also divorced his own marriage. But his daughter and former wife are an integral part of his life, as is his marriage-mad father.

Vienna, 1947. Bockerer and his wife Binerl have survived the war, though his butcher's shop was destroyed by bombs. Karl Bockerer opens up a new establishment in the center of the city. Post-war Vienna is divided into four zones in which the Allies run things and ensure that law and order prevails. This is the story of two lovers: Gustl, just returned form a POW camp, and the Russian interpreter Elena. Bockerer becomes the patron of their love. Elena's father was executed by Stalin, and the only way she can escape a similar fate is to marry an Austrian. Bockerer "buys" a husband for Elena and, full of tricks as ever, he succeeds in pulling the wool over the Russian occupier's eyes.

Paul is a playboy: a former girlfriend asks him to marry Zosia ,a Polish girl ,opponent of the regime of her country (it's 1981,December would see the state of siege in Poland and the arrest of many opponents) Paul hesitates but they told him so: it will be an unconsummated marriage and they will divorce shortly after.Against all odds,Paul ,who is a happy-go-lucky guy,who does not care about politics,flies to Warsaw :Zosia is a gorgeous blonde, and during their honeymoon, he falls in love with her.But it's not that easy ;back in Paris, Zosia is still a political activist whose friends look upon Paul as an intruder.

A politically naive Viennese butcher (Bockerer) manages to survive the Nazi occupation of Austria and the second world war.

Fanny Hobichler, a young promising actress, moves to Vienna in the 1920s in order to pursue her big break. She draws inspiration and seeks help from the popular stage actor Albert Kortz who once started out from the same provincial town as she did and was a close friend of her late father. Kortz, however, dreams of retiring as he is tired of his fame and having to deal with the short-tempered theatre director Jason. Together, they try to outwit Jason.

Marlene Roedern is a student at the Salzburg Mozarteum, as is her boyfriend, Hans Hellmer, a promising conductor. Strothoff, a government cultural representative, engages Hans to conduct at Hamburg. While in Salzburg, Strothoff meets Marlene, who works as a tourist guide in order to pay her tuition fees. He hires her for an all-night tour of the city. She becomes infatuated with him and he with her. Hans is not happy about this.

An Austrian comedy about a mayor who gets headwind from all sides. The very strict mayor (Karl Skraup) not only rejects the marriage of his son with a Viennese woman, but he also denies 40 kids their intended holiday--paid for by the provincial government--because they are illegitimate children. The entanglements only get bigger when two reporters start writing about it. When the local nurse (Maria Andergast) pretends to be the mayor's illegitimate daughter, his resistance is finally overcome.
