Seamstress
共産主義信奉者の大学教授ブルスキ（マルチェロ・マストロヤンニ）は規則正しい生活を送るのが身上の保守的な人間。ある日、疎遠な息子オリヴィエロから離婚寸前の妻ステラ（サンドリーヌ・ボネール）が出て行ったため、4歳の娘パペレを託される。利発だがちょっと変わった孫娘との生活にとまどうブルスキだが、やがて感受性豊かな彼女との生活が楽しみになる。ところがそこにステラが転がり込んできて状況は一転。奔放で粗野なステラは自分の都合だけでパペレを振り回し、ブルスキと衝突を続けたあげく家を追い出される。1カ月後、交通事故にあったステラを探しあてたブルスキは彼女を家に連れ帰る。奇妙な共同生活が続くなか、ブルスキはステラを本当の娘のように思い始め、3人は家族のようになった。ブルスキから教育を受けて新たな世界に目覚めるステラだが、彼との生活は窮屈だった。ある日、ステラはパペレを連れて家を出て行く。残されたブルスキは人生の黄昏をかみしめるのだった。

An American journalist works for a French newspaper. He is writing an article about the reaction against people with AIDS, without knowing he is infected too. Once he finds out, he decides to cut off himself leaving his wife and daughter.

While keeping an eye on his small time crook brother in law, Inspector Nico Giraldi gets involved in a murder case set in the world of Formula One racing. Giraldi is suspended for trying to cover up for his brother in law and becomes afraid his wife and son may be targeted next. Therefore he calls in the help of his childhood friend and chief informant, Venticello.
