Love, music and entanglements: a showgirl tries luck in tragedy, but she will be surprised by the arrival of her son from Bombay, with ideas very different from those of Spain; while the successor of this one - and neighbor - gains a plus doing "favors" to the gentle admirers.

Set in one-day, three people embark together on a car trip from Madrid to Almeria. Antonio (Cebrián) is a successful industrialist, however he is dismayed that his personal life does not reflect his glittering career. He is insecure about his faltering marriage to Teresa (Chaplin), whom he believes is having an affair with his best friend, Antonio (Galiardo).

Andrés (Fernando Fernán Gómez) is a simple man: he owns a store that sells religious articles and he's never left his hometown of Murcia. After unexpectedly inheriting a sum of money, he decides to take a trip to Paris, where his friend Armando (Alfredo Landa) lives. His friend finds him lodging in a boarding house where Andrés meets Ninette (Rosenda Monteros), an attractive Parisian girl.
