Mariko Miyagi was an actress who had also written screenplays, produced, and directed films. She was also the director of Nemunoki Gakuen, a school for disabled children - the first ever such school in Japan. The school was founded by Miyagi in Shizuoka-ken in April 1968 using her own money. At Nemunoki, children and young adults with physical, intellectual or familial difficulties are gently encouraged to discover and develop their talents through such activities as painting, music, tea ceremony and dancing. The Silk Tree Ballad was the first in a series of documentaries, initially distributed by the ATG.

監督・市川崑、脚本・和田夏十の、浮気性の男と妻、そして９人の愛人たちが織りなすブラックコメディ。 テレビプロデューサーの風松吉は、美しい妻・双葉がいながら、９人の女と浮気していた。妻と愛人たちはお互いの存在をそれとなく知っており、松吉が浮気者であるという事も重々承知しているものの、なぜか松吉から離れられないでいた。 あるとき妻と舞台女優で愛人の市子とで松吉を殺す計画が持ち上がる。それは計画を立てることで松吉への鬱憤を晴らすための架空の計画であったのだが、気の小さい松吉は愛人たちが自分を殺そうとしていると思いこみ妻に相談する。妻はあっさり計画を認めた上で、二人で愛人を一掃するために、愛人を集めて松吉を糾弾する会を開き、その席上でピストルで松吉を殺したように見せかけるという狂言殺人を行うことにするが…。

白蛇の精・白娘は、幼い頃可愛がってくれた許仙のことが忘れられず美しい娘となって彼の前に姿を現した。二人を手引きするのは、魚の精の少青。たちまち二人は恋に陥ってしまう。しかし、このことはたちまち法海和尚の知るところとなり、妖怪に魅入られた若者の命を慮る和尚は、法力をもってこの恋を妨げようと決意するのであった。だが、二人の恋は上々の首尾で花咲き乱れる美しい屋敷の庭をそぞろ歩くなど、夢うつつのひとときを過ごしていた。許仙と仲良しのパンダとミミーの二匹も、少青と一緒に屋敷の中を遊びあるき、あげくの果てに柱の飾り龍を引きずり落としてしまった。龍は勝手に動き出し、パンダとミミーそして少青をつかまらせたまま、夜空を飛び回って宝物殿に落ちた。少青はそこで拾った宝石を許仙と白娘に与えたが、これが二人を引き離すもとになる。

加東大介と小林桂樹が弥次喜多コンビをユーモラスに演じた喜劇。作品のネタに困った十返舎一九は、栃面屋弥次郎兵衛と喜多利屋喜多八に金を与え二人に旅をさせる。だが二人をつけねらう謎の美男子に旅を邪魔され、弥次さん喜多さんは面白くない。実はこの男、偽小判事件にからみ姿を消した十兵衛の行方を追う幕府の隠密で、一緒に出発した十兵衛の娘お雪とはぐれてしまっていた。旅先で数々の失敗を繰り返す弥次喜多コンビだったが、二人の行動が偽小判事件を解決に導くことになり…。
