In a post-apocalyptic world, Hao survives in a city under the repressive military, chasing ancient inhabitants who have become monstrous. Hao's girlfriend, Ying, is one of them. Hao tries to protect her despite the danger she represents for him.

In 1994, a girl called Wei participates in a student strike that fights for creative freedom. There she meets a girl and a boy,Qing and Guang, who are the leaders of the strike. They used to be lovers until Wei appears in their world. As the protest lasts several weeks, different voices rise between Qing and Guang.
