A street level drug supplier falls in love with a college student. Despite avoiding him at first, the girl later uses him for her own benefit by acting of being in love with him. Later she falls in love with another boy but still can't break the relationship with the first lover as he accepts all her demands and changes himself leaving all his drug supplying works behind. The girl falling in dilemma hands the boy to Police. But fate brings them face to face again to experience some tragedy.

It's Pinky's birthday today. Many people are wishing her 'Happy Birthday' making tiktok videos for her. As she was leaving to celebrate the day, a car drove up and abducts her. Pinky then wakes up in an abandoned movie theatre, with her hands tied to a chair. She thinks that, may she is kidnapped for some ransom. But the kidnapers has some other intentions.

Bengal was divided and hundreds of thousands of Bengalis were displaced and divided on the basis of their religion. The Hindus were forced out as East Bengal was made a part of Pakistan and the same fate lay in store for the Muslims of West Bengal. Millions became refugees in their own homeland, and thousands still bear the cross and the scar. The film is a human saga of a truncated land and how people are trying to relive their destiny.

Based on the timeless literary work by Manik Bandyopadhyay, Padma Nadir Majhi was directed by Gautam Ghosh. The movie illustrates the tumultuous lives of the fishermen and their families, living by the river Padma. Beautiful shots of the river, Ghosh's flair for realism and brilliant display of acting skills by noted actors of Bangladesh and West Bengal, including Utpal Dutt, Robi Ghosh, Abul Khayer, Raisul Islam Asad, Champa, and Rupa Ganguli, fetched the movie local and international honours.
