They managed to win the hearts of the English audience, transforming the view created by the Western press and propaganda about the Russian people and the Soviet country.

ポルタバの戦いの結果、スウェーデン人捕虜1万人以上がシベリアに送られた時代。当時のシベリア一帯では、ロシア、ジュンガル、清という3つの国がせめぎ合っていた。そんな時、存在が噂される金塊を見つけるべく、若き軍人イヴァンらロシア軍がシベリアに送り込まれるが、ジュンガルや清からの圧力の中、金塊を見つける任務の部隊にスウェーデン人捕虜の一部も採用されることに。一方、ロシアとジュンガルの対立は強まる。
