法律で中絶が禁止されていた、1960年代のフランス。望まぬ妊娠をした大学生のアンヌは、前途洋々だと思っていた自分の人生が思わぬ方向へ進もうとしているのではないかと狼狽する。医者に中絶を求めるも「違法行為になる」と突き放され、次第に追い詰められて孤立していくアンヌ。だが、自身が願っていた未来をかなえるためにある選択をする。
