Massimo Troisi, away for a long time, reappears silently without anyone knowing. He contacts his friend Gaetano, and Anna, the woman of his life. Anna and Massimo rent a house by the sea, in Naples, to write the screenplay of a new movie.

Hannah, a young English woman, decides to enter a Vlogger competition in which she describes a European city in a video. Hannah intends to represent Italy, her grandfather's birthplace. She is thus looking for a video-maker who can assist her in creating her video; after a few days, she hires Connor, and the two of them travel to Italy. Hannah and Connor settle into an apartment they found on the internet. After a few days of shooting, strange supernatural events prevent the two from continuing, and the project's original concept is abandoned. Hannah, unable to compete any longer, decides to use the footage she shot to create a feature film that shows everyone what happened to her during that terrible week.
