主人公ハックはポーカー世界大会で２度優勝する腕前を持つ父親を尊敬できないでいた。家族を捨て常にポーカーの虜となっていた父。しかし気付いてみれば彼も各地のポーカーテーブルで稼ぐプロのポーカープレイヤーとして日々過ごす存在となっていた。ある日友人の妹ビリーと知り合い惹かれあうが、彼女のなけなしの金を黙ってポーカーの種銭として使ってしまい愛想をつかされてしまう。 ポーカーの騙し合いの日々の中でハックはビリーが自分にとって心許せる特別な存在である事に深く気付かされるのだが、彼の中のポーカープレイヤーとしての葛藤や父親との確執に悩み続ける。そんな中ハックは、ラスベガスで開かれる世界最大のポーカー選手権出場が決まる。大会には３度目の優勝を狙う越えられない存在である父親も対戦相手として名乗りをあげていた。ビリーのいない中、ハックの孤独な勝負が始まる。
