ジャブローでの防衛戦を耐えきった地球連邦軍は勢いのままにジオン地球進攻軍本拠地のオデッサを攻略すべく大反抗作戦に打って出た。アムロ達の乗るホワイトベースは作戦前の最後の補給を受ける為にベルファストへ向け航行。そんな中ホワイトベースにある任務が言い渡される。無人島、通称「帰らずの島」の残敵掃討任務。残置諜者の捜索に乗り出すアムロ達であったが、そこで見たのは、いるはずのない子供たちと一機のザクであった。戦闘の中でガンダムを失ったアムロは、ククルス・ドアンと名乗る男と出会う。島の秘密を暴き、アムロは再びガンダムを見つけて無事脱出できるのか…？
