脚本家のポールは映画プロデューサーのプロコシュから、フリッツ・ラングが監督する大作映画「オデュッセイア」の脚本の手直しを依頼される。ポールと妻で女優のカミーユはプロコシュの自宅へ招かれるが、ポールが遅れて到着するとカミーユの態度はなぜか豹変しており、彼に対して軽蔑のまなざしを向ける。やがてポールとカミーユは映画のロケのため、カプリ島にあるプロコシュの別荘を訪れるが…。
