Arkham Horror, through a wise use of only archive material, follows Dr. Randolph Carter's investigation of a mysterious patient who recently arrived at his clinic. The nameless patient seems to have been suffering from a severe form of selective mutism since returning from an anthropological expedition to the Pacific Islands. It is up to Dr. Carter to unravel the mystery hidden by the mysterious anthropologist, driven insane by a disconcerting revelation.
