東京でカメラマンとして成功している猛（オダギリジョー）は母の一周忌で帰省する。彼は実家のガソリンスタンドを継いだ独身の兄の稔（香川照之）や、そこで働く幼なじみの智恵子（真木よう子）と再会し、3人で近くの渓谷に行くことにする。猛が単独行動している間に、稔と渓谷にかかる吊り橋の上にいた智恵子が転落する。

Kanzo Hattori, an apprentice Ninja, leaves his home town of Iga for his final training. He must go to the city of Edo (Tokyo), and the first person he meets shall be his master, whom he must protect with his life, whilst upholding the ninja code. Also while in Edo, Hattori must find out why their rivals, the Koga Ninjas, are flourishing while the Iga Ninjas are dying out. Hattori's master is Kenichi, a 9 year old boy. Kenichi is an introvert and not very popular boy, so he never plays with the other children from school. Kenichi also has a secret crush on a young lady called Midori, yet he's too shy to speak to her. Though as he watches Hattori trying his best, he too begins to try. Meanwhile, people are being found unconscious, their bodies completely unmarked. All the victims have a tattoo (the Koga Ninja crest) and are found with a throwing knife lying close by.

耽美派大女流作家・重松時子は4年前、謎の薬物死を遂げた。それから毎年、時子を偲び、時子の館に集う5人の女たちがいた。今年も例年にならい、木曜日を挟んで3日間集まることとなった。5人はそれぞれ、まだ時子の死に割り切れないでいた。その日、彼女たちのもとに花束が届いた。花束に添えられていたカードには、“皆様の罪を忘れないために、今日この場所に死者のための花を捧げます”というメッセージが。時子の死を他殺と受け取らせるような内容に、各自が4年前に立ち返って推理し始める…。

Former boxer Iwano, teamed up with Sada and Maru, who live in the same apartment building, makes his daily living as a punching bag for drunken businessmen in some corner of the amusement quarters. The three have continuously avoided putting themselves in a situation that could tie them down, especially Iwano, who is totally clueless about what he wants to do with his life. One day, they receive notice that their apartment building will be torn down. As a compensation for the eviction, their remaining rent is considered as settled. Having lost their place to live, the three each try to find their way.

Genichiro, a lonely retired man living with his son’s family who mostly ignores him, feels closest to his granddaughter who is in highschool. Through her, Genichiro meets another high school girl, Mina, who also feels ignored by her family. She is also troubled by her friend’s pregnancy and the bankruptcy of her father’s company. Unlike her friends, Mina has an ungilded view of life and finds herself comforted by Genichiro’s wisdom. Genichiro likewise is happy to be making a difference in someone’s life.

A four-part anthology in the spirit of The Twilight Zone, this film starts off with a group of commuters stranded at a train station in the rain, listening to stories told by one of the group. These include tales of a group stranded in the mountains and haunted by guilt over a death they inadvertantly caused, an emotionally broken chessmaster pressed into playing a real-life game for an eccentric millionaire, a wandering medieval samurai who finds a modern-day cell phone on the ground and a person on the other end asking questions about the past, and a young couple who agree to try a computer simulation of what their future as husband and wife would be like.

脳みそが抜き取られ料理されるという、猟奇連続殺人事件が発生した。遺体や現場の状況から検屍官の赤城によって、犯人は体重100キロ、握力150キロ以上、しかも料理が得意な人物と目された。事件を担当した捜査一課の早瀬刑事は、犯人像とは似ても似つかないと反対する飛鷹警部の意見を押し切り、事件の3日前に美術館に出かけたまま行方不明になっていた女子大生・柏木千鶴を容疑者として捜索を開始。だが、彼女もまた脳みそがない状態の死体で発見されるのだった。しかし、事件はそれで解決した訳ではなかった。その後、同じような事件が若い会社員・木村敦や警察病院の医師・笹本美奈によって引き起こされる。早瀬は、以前担当した事件の犯人だったキャバクラ嬢の朝子に、真犯人は人間ではない何かだと助言を受けるが、彼女もまたその何かに体を乗っ取られてしまう。そして、その何かとは「悪意」だった。

畑田という男性とその妊娠中の妻・恵が殺された事件で、劇団員の柴田が容疑者として逮捕される。柴田は大筋で罪を認めるものの犯行時の記憶がなく、殺意を否認する。国選弁護人の長村は刑法第三十九条に基づいて柴田の精神鑑定を請求し、精神医学者の藤代とその助手である香深は、柴田と接見することに。香深の目前で柴田は自分が多重人格であるようにふるまうが、さらに香深が調査を続けると意外な事実が浮かび上がってくる。
