唐朝末期の西暦665年。皇帝が送り出した10万もの水軍が何者かの襲撃で全滅、巷間では海の神“龍王”のたたりであり、若い女性をいけにえにしなければ怒りが鎮まらないとの噂が広まる。そんな中、都・洛陽に赴任した若き判事ディーは、いけにえに選ばれた美しき花魁、インをめぐる誘拐事件の捜査に乗り出し、インを奪いに現われた異形の怪物に遭遇する。その正体を探るうち、ディーたちは怪物の悲しい真実を知る。
