パスポートの写真を撮る為に写真館へ赴く金田一。そこから事件が始まる。写真館を訪れた金田一にその写真館の主人・本條徳兵衛（小沢栄太郎）は殺されそうになったので調査して欲しいと依頼する。金田一が写真を撮ったその日、女性（桜田淳子）が写真館を訪れる。その女性は「結婚写真を撮りたいのである場所に夜来て欲しい」と告げ、消えて行った。そのある場所とは他に正式な名前がありながらある時から「病院坂」と呼ばれる様になった場所にある誰もが空き家と考えていた家であった。
