Lucian (13) would like to fit in. He doesn’t want to be ridiculed, so he decides to go skiing for sports day even though he can’t ski at all. One lie leads to another, and finally to a flurry of untruths that put Lucian in an unbearable situation he can’t escape from.

Ivan Cankar experienced many things only after he has written about them. In the film, this link between his writing and his private life is depicted by live-action and animated scenes that draw exclusively on the writer’s works and letters to his loved ones. For an entire decade, he lived with the Löffler family in Vienna, where he wrote most of his impressive oeuvre. First, he grew very close to the lady of the house, then to her adolescent daughter Steffi. Back in Ljubljana, he got involved with several girls there, an attentive lover of a cheerful nature, accessible and highly intelligent. His popular public lectures reveal him as a passionate social democrat.

Tragedy doesn’t come any more Dickensian in tone or Shakespearian in scope than this dark social drama of the disintegration of a little family of four. Little things in the everyday life of six different people: a pregnant woman who sets off with her daughter to give birth; her husband, who needs to take her to the maternity ward as soon as possible; a woman who is in conflict with the pregnant woman\’s husband regarding a parking dispute; her lover who wants a serious relationship; and a postman who wants this man\’s signature upon a registered letter. People always meet and their lives are interconnected, regardless of who or what they are.

Duša is a young dancer and dance instructor. Torn between a dominant mother, an absent father and a married lover, she is sinking into a typical crisis of the thirties, which gets worse when she starts suspecting that someone has been following her and invading her privacy.

Sani, a boy in puberty, and his elder brother Amir spend their summer holidays as usual in Slovenia to visit his uncle and his wife. The summer is beautiful, long and hot. Sani enjoys meeting new people, he likes the girls and the carefree fun. However, he does not realize that this is more than a vacation, namely, that he would stay in Slovenia. When he finds out about these plans that his relatives made for his life Sani is distressed and shocked. Under the pressure of these new and unexpected circumstances, his puberty turns into a wild chase.
