John Tavener

Lars-Lennart Forsberg's 15 minute long film, based on Marianne Hall's sculptures. The music, Prayer of the Heart, is written by the English composer Sir John Tavener and performed by Björk.

西暦2027年11月。人類は希望を失い、世界は恐慌状態におちいっていた。なぜか出産の能力が失われ、18年間にわたって全く子供が生まれないのだ。英国は軍事力で徹底的に抑圧することにより、秩序を維持していた。検問所に向かう途中、セオたちの車は暴徒の襲撃にあい、ジュリアンが撃たれて絶命。組織のアジトに逃げ込んだセオは、キーから衝撃の事実を告白される。なんと彼女は子供を身ごもっており、間もなく出産を迎えるというのだ。セオは彼女を連れ、命がけの逃避行を開始する。

Set in Mexico City, Carlos Reygadas's sexually explicit drama centers on a man in turmoil over his past actions. Chauffer Marcos feels compelled to reveal a dark secret to his boss's daughter, Ana, a wealthy woman who works as a prostitute just for the thrill of it. Marcos confesses that he and his wife committed a crime that ended in horrible tragedy. Haunted by his past, Marcos searches for redemption.

Accompanied only by music the film alternates between shots of pilgrims near the tomb of Saint Sergei in Sergiyev Posad, Russia and pilgrims at the Basilica of Guadalupe in Mexico.
