Tetsu Sawaki

Three storylines interweave in Border Line. Kurosawa (Murakami Jun) finds himself driving a taciturn young man named Matsuda (Sawaki Tetsu) halfway to Hokkaido, after accidentally knocking him off his bike; their fragile bond can last only so long. The housewife Aikawa Misa (Aso Yumi) tries desperately to hold her family together when her husband gets laid off and her son is so frightened of bullies at school that he throws up in the car; she’s reduced to taking a McJob in a convenience store. And Miyaji (Mitsuishi Ken), who collects debts for a yakuza gang, gets into trouble when his partner Kitajima puts personal need above duty.

仁村雄二は、同じおしぼり工場で働く同僚・有田守と公私ともに淡々とした日常を過ごしている。雄二は他人と上手く渡り合えず無鉄砲な性格。そんな彼を見兼ねた守はある日、彼ら2人だけしか分からない2つのサインを提案し、それを徹底させようとする。その頃から雄二は守が飼っている猛毒の“アカクラゲ”に興味を示すようになった。ある時、守はそのクラゲを雄二に託して突然姿を消す。守は工場の社長夫妻殺害の容疑者として収監されていた。以来、雄二は戸惑いながらも、何かに取り憑かれたようにクラゲの世話を始める。

地方都市。中学生の雄一は優等生の星野と親しくなるが、夏の旅行をきっかけに友人たちの関係は変容する。新学期、クラス一の不良をけんかで倒した星野は、やがて彼自身が暴君と化していく。暴行や万引き、クラスメートに売春させるなど、エスカレートする彼の行動に、いじめの対象となった雄一も荷担させられることに。雄一は現実から目をそらすように、崇拝するアーティスト、リリイ・シュシュのファンサイトを作る。

17 year old Tokyo pizza delivery boy Kosuke crashes his bike into photographer Reiko and breaks her expensive camera. He promises to deliver homemade pizza to make up for her broken camera. After discovering that Reiko has moved 1,200 km away to her hometown of Nagasaki things become trickier, but Kosuke decides to fulfill his promise anyways by borrowing a moped from his workplace.

Naoya and Katsuhiro are boyfriends, new in their relationship. Things are uneven at first—Naoya is open and free while Katsuhiro is cautious and closeted—but nothing compares to the chaos that arrives when Asako, a troubled woman with a history of psychiatric problems, abortions, and casual sex, asks Katsuhiro to conceive a child with her.

13-year-old Sachiko is about to encounter the most difficult moments in her young life. Her father abandons her and her mother attempts to commit suicide by slashing her wrist. Her teacher, whom she relies on heavily, leaves for northern Japan to take another job. Other students start to gossip about Sachiko and her former teacher. Sachiko then drops out of school and attempts to find herself.

Yuri and Takumi are brother and sister who faced unusually harsh treatment by their father. An act of brutality keeps them extremely close together until an older couple occupy the house where their secret was buried.

The story takes place in an unnamed Japanese city, and follows five students at Shinyo Academy as they try to piece together the puzzle of a new drug and recent disappearances among the student populace. While the teachers believe them to only be runaways, the female students whisper among themselves about the urban legend Boogiepop, who is said to be a Shinigami.

ビデオ制作会社を経営している青山は7年前に妻を亡くし、ひとり息子に再婚でもしたらどうかと勧められていた。ある日、青山の友人の吉川が映画制作のオーディションと称して、応募してきた中から再婚相手を探すことを提案する。応募書を見ていると青山はひとりの女性、山﨑麻美に興味を持つ。オーディションで麻美と直に会い、加速度的に魅了される青山。しかし吉川は麻美の周辺の人物と連絡がつかないことから、違和感を感じていた。麻美との出会いによって青山は究極の恐怖体験を知る事になる。
