Over the course of the 20th century humanity was concerned with the question: what will the world evolve into at the turn of the millennium? Michael Busch addresses the historical legacy of the last hundred years and its utopian potential to reflect on the most pressing problems of our time. The film is a mosaic of images from newsreels and experimental sketches, as well as fragments of lectures given by Boris Groys, Helga Nowotny, James Scott and other researchers at the Haus der Kulturen der Welt. Russian cosmists' idea of immortality, the UN declaration 1514, the body enhancements of the techno sphere, the history of the railways and the algorithms are among the many other 20th century narratives which determine our understanding of what is “now” at a deep level. With its loose structure, Michael Busch's film creates a productive intellectual space in which poignant questions about the present can be articulated.

Into Great Silence (German: Die Große Stille) is a documentary film directed by Philip Gröning that was first released in 2005. It is an intimate portrayal of the everyday lives of Carthusian monks of the Grande Chartreuse, high in the French Alps (Chartreuse Mountains). The idea for the film was proposed to the monks in 1984, but the Carthusians said they wanted time to think about it. The Carthusians finally contacted Gröning 16 years later to say they were now willing to permit Gröning to shoot the movie, if he was still interested.

Derek Rillix is a Nerd Hunter, a special officer assigned to hunt down and delete anyone engaged in illegal "NERD" activities. Rillix knows that the underground nerd movement, led by MasterGeek, are planning a massive comic book convention. Rillix is bent on stopping this, but something is gnawing away deep inside him, a deep secret that even he cannot face.

Screenplay
David, a recently fired scrapyard worker and Marie, a prostitute, both about 20 years old, meet on New Year's Eve in Berlin and decide to run away together. As David's arm is plastered from an accident Marie continues to prostitute herself to finance their restless journey through the Ruhr area. Their love and their will to survive guide them though all problems.
