Kumiko Ijima is a very timid girl who happens to recognize a murderer still in pursuit at a park. With the help of her friend Kyoko Inaba, she warns the police about the wanted man. After trying to escape the police by car, the murderer crashes and ends up in the hospital. Some time later, a mysterious entity starts to terrorize the neighborhood in search of a girl who has the name initials K.I. and uses a red ribbon on her hair.

Although the hero, Wataru, wants only to score with Mai, the girl of his dreams, he must first deal with four other young women scattered in his path like land mines. There is infatuated and juvenile Miho, tomboyish athlete Misa, naive Kurumi, and the caustic Satomi, who works in the restaurant where Wataru hangs out and whose personal life become hopelessly intertwined with Wataru's.

霊界が突如、未曾有の大洪水に襲われた。ぼたんはコエンマの命令で閻魔大王の秘宝「冥界玉」を持って霊界を脱出し、幽助に知らせるべく人間界へ。ボロボロの状態で皿屋敷中学の屋上へたどり着いたぼたんは、幽助に重根神社のひなげしに会うよう告げて気を失う。 幽助を探して屋上へやってきた螢子にぼたんを任せ、桑原と共に重根神社に赴いた幽助は、冥界鬼に襲われたひなげしを救い出し、ぼたんを預けた先である幻海の寺で、霊界の様子を見に行った蔵馬とも合流。そして霊界の異変が、かつて人間界を支配しようと企んで閻魔大王に消滅させられた冥界の仕業であることを知った。人間界での冥界の復活を阻止し、水没した霊界を復活させるため、幽助たちはひなげしの案内で霊鬼門に向かうことに。また、この話を寺の外で聞いていた飛影は事態を静観しようとしていたが、寺に雪菜が来たことで単独で霊鬼門の一つを目指す。 しかし、人間界に冥界を復活させようと企む冥界の王の一派によって霊鬼門は次々と奪われ、幻海の結界を破って寺に侵入してきた冥界の王・耶雲とその部下・頼光に襲われた幻海が負傷。そして、耶雲の力の源である「冥界玉」を隠し持っていたぼたんが幻海の寺からさらわれる。その際、幽助とともに寺に戻ってきた螢子、そして幻海とともにぼたんの看病をしていた雪菜も襲われたことで、単独行動していた飛影も一行に加わり、耶雲とその部下達を倒すべく死闘を繰り広げる。

十番街に現れた謎の青年フィオレによって、衛が宇宙へと連れ去られてしまった。彼を助け出すため、うさぎたちはセーラーテレポートで、フィオレのいる小惑星に向かう。宇宙で最も危険な生物“キセニアンの花”にとりつかれてしまったフィオレは邪悪な力を使い、衛のために地球人を滅ぼそうとする。うさぎは衛を救うことができるのか…。

Yohko Mano is introduced. Yohko goes about her daily life; day dreaming about a cute guy named Hideki. Yohko learns that her family has a long history of being devil hunters. But this time the demons decide to take out the next devil hunter before she can fight back. After a failed attempt to take Yohko's virginity (so that she can't become a devil hunter), the demons decide to use Hideki as bait. Yohko must become the 108th devil hunter and rescue the man of her dreams. The English-dubbed "Special Edition" of this episode restores approximately 30 seconds of assorted footage that was cut from the final Japanese print of the film.

In the chaos of the Jinshin-no-Ran civil war of 762, a child with a small horn in his forehead was born. The child's mother condemned him as an oni and cast him away. An elderly shūgenja woman claimed the child and named him Utsunomiko, or 'Divine Child of the Heavens', telling Miko that his horn smybolizes the union of heaven and earth. Miko matured in the wilderness learning the ways of Shugendō, and soon started venturing into villages out of curiosity. He found that the common people of the villages live in poverty and suffering, and began using his spiritual powers to help them. But his anger at the self-serving rulers and their petty power-struggles grew until he came into open conflict with the Imperial Court, setting Miko down a long path as a champion of the oppressed.

Yuu, Persia, Mai and Yumi are together in a science fiction-like adventure. An awful monster assault young and beautiful girls, leaving them transformed into ugly hags: only our four magical girls with their powers can fly to the space and fight for Earth 's sake, so Yuu transforms into Creamy Mami, Mai into Magical Emi, Persia into Fairy and little Yumi draws space suits for all of them.

After the original run of the television series, an OAV music video titled Genesis Climber Mospeada: Love Live Alive was specially (mostly due to demands of hardcore Mospeada fans) released in Japan in September 1985. The music video consisted of both old and new footage. The story of Love Live Alive chronicled the events after the ending of the original Mospeada, featuring Yellow Belmont as the main character. The music video focused on Yellow's concert and also on his flashback of past events.

To counter Earth's Combat Armors, they have a lone Combat Armor of their own: Dougram, a CA specially built for Deloyer's environment — and piloted by Crinn Cashim, the rebellious son of the leader of the Earth government on Deloyer. This compilation film version presents the events of the 75 episode anime series as a documentary, primarily focusing on the story's politics rather than the main characters. Originally screened with the short "Choro Q Dougram" and the Combat Mecha Xabungle compilation film Xabungle Graffiti.

「伝説巨神イデオン　接触篇」と「発動篇」は、視聴率低迷を理由に39話で打ち切られてしまった、同名SFTVシリーズの劇場版である。TV版の「イデオン」は、「機動戦士ガンダム」の終了後すぐに富野喜幸（現：由悠季）監督が手掛けた作品だった。だが、一連の富野作品の中でも特に難解で、哲学的、宗教的な内容に、当時の主視聴者層である子どもたちが戸惑ってしまった。しかし、放送終了後に評価が高まり、TVシリーズの総集編で1本、本来制作されるはずだった残り4話分のエピソードで1本という形で映画化が実現した。地球の植民地“ソロ星”に、伝説の無限エネルギー“イデ”の探索にやってきた異星人バッフ・クランは、ちょっとした誤解が原因で地球人と交戦状態に突入してしまう。地球人はソロ星で発掘した第六文明人の宇宙船と巨神を使って宇宙へと逃れるが、それこそがバッフ・クラン人が探し求めていたイデだった。ひとつのエネルギー“イデ”をめぐって、ふたつの文明が争い、破滅へと向かう…。
