モンスターズ株式会社は、住民全員がモンスターのモンスター・シティと呼ばれる町にあった。サリーと相棒のマイクら社員は毎晩町のエネルギー源である子どもたちの悲鳴を収集するために人間界へと出向いていたが、ある日、幼い女の子ブーが迷い込んで来る。何より人間の子どもに恐怖を抱いていたモンスターたちは、パニックに陥り……。
