サンフランシスコ。成功した歯科医のテイト家の末娘カーラは軽い知的障害者だが、自分の可能性を信じて明るく生きていた。24歳になり、全寮制の私立学校を卒業した彼女は職業訓練学校に通い始め、そこで出会った同じ障害を負ったダニーと恋に落ちた。だが、母エリザベスは、カーラを愛するあまり結婚には賛成できず、彼女の自立を阻もうとしてしまう。だが、父ラドリーとふたりの姉キャロラインとヘザーの助けもあって、彼女はついにダニーと結婚宣言し、健気にも幸せをつかもうとするのだった。
Screenplay
Elliot is going to the island of Eden to live out his submissive fantasies, but inadvertently photographs diamond smugglers at work. Smugglers, and detectives, follow him to the island, where they try to retrieve the film. Elliot begins falling in love with Lisa, the head mistress of the island, and Lisa must evaluate her feelings about Elliot and her own motivations.

The two club members trick Harley into stealing a prize watermelon to the dismay of the furious farmer, and later dare him to enter a supposedly haunted house in which they uncover a bag of money stolen in a bank robbery.
