巨大な電気嵐が近未来の地球を襲い、各地で不慮の災害や事故が発生。自らもそのせいで危うく命を落としかけた宇宙飛行士のロイは、ある極秘情報を聞かされて驚く。かつて初の太陽系外有人探査計画の司令官として宇宙へ旅立ち、その後消息を絶った父のクリフォードが実はまだ生きていて、彼が今なお続行中の実験のせいで電気嵐が生じ、このままでは太陽系に壊滅的危機が訪れるというのだ。かくしてロイは父に会いに宇宙へと旅立つ。

As everyone comes together to help plan the event, the parents cannot stop bickering and they are constantly at each other's throat.
