A black comedy directed by Walter Deuber and Peter Stierlin.

It's director Oberholzer's sixtieth birthday. His wife and daughter Anna receive the guests who are invited to the feast, with a dish of pike as the main course. But suddenly, the celebration turns sour at the appearance of an unexpected guest - namely Oberholzer's brother Alois, the black sheep of the family, who disappeared years ago. As it turns out, Alois has since changed his name to "Obolski" and become ringmaster of a major circus. Him and his wife Iduna quickly threaten the morals and standards of the bourgeois party, and they proceed to turn the boring proceedings into a turbulent circus show. Fortunately, after much confusion, the story ends happily - altough the pike has burned black in the oven!

The Hänggis are busily preparing for the wedding of their eldest daughter Jacqueline to Victor, son of Stephan Haberthür, with whom Heini Hänggi is planning a business merger. Then in walks a total stranger - Mrs. Seeholzer - who announces she saw in a vision that Jacqueline would not marry Victor. She then establishes her vision's accuracy by correctly predicting various hilarious domestic accidents... Wonderful play for little theatres.

Farmer Heiri has sold his calf and celebrates his temporary wealth in the big city. But in so doing he is confronted with many temptations and dangers: pickpockets, second-rate artists and prostitutes who all try to grab the money of this naive man from Hausen. But as soon as all the banknotes have been transformed into alcohol, none of these alleged friends want anything more to do with him... This is a 1978 recording of the well-known Zürich boulevard theatre piece.

Captain Ebbs is an older, experienced seaman who has, however, only sailed on freighters. While his current old barge, the Martin Luther, has to go into the shipyard for an overhaul, the shipping company gives him command of the elegant cruise ship Julia to temporarily replace a colleague who has fallen ill. The rough Ebbs finds his way into his new job only with difficulty and initially puts his foot in his social mouth.

With much enthusiasm and idealism he's discovering, that corruption and greed are wide spread in his beloved country. This is the second movie about Theophil Läppli after HD-Soldat Läppli (1959).
