猛暑続く10月のある日、キャバナス湖周辺で大きな揺れが観測された事を受けて、地盤調査員のローレンは原因究明のため湖へと向かっていた。一方、休日を過ごそうと湖を訪れていたネイサンとジェニファーは、水面から謎のガスが吹き出すという異様な光景を目の当たりにしていた。不気味に湖から発せられた謎のガスは瞬く間に周囲に充満し、ネイサン達はその場に倒れ込んでしまう。ローレンが湖に着くと、窒息状態で亡くなっているネイサン達がそこには居た……。CO₂濃度の異常上昇により呼吸を奪われ倒れる人々……それは人類に対する自然からの警告なのか！？ 衝撃のディザスター・パニック・ムービー！
