ある日、ラコーム率いる調査団がメキシコの砂漠で第二次大戦時の戦闘機を発見する。それは、消失当時と変わらぬ姿で残っていた。一方アメリカのインディアナ州では、町一帯の停電を調べていた電気技師ロイがUFOのような光を発見。以来、彼はこの不思議な光にすっかり魅了され、その正体を探っていく。やがて、光が行き着く先はワイオミング州のデビルズ・タワーという山だと判明するのだが…。
