Der erste Tag (2016)

클레런스(크리스찬 슬레이터 분)는 사회에 잘 적응하지 못하고 겉도는 친구로 홍콩 액션 영화와 엘비스 프레슬리에 미쳐 있고 토요일 심야 영화에서 연속 3편씩 보는게 취미다. 어느날 우연히 아름답고 순진한 여성 알라바마(패트리시아 아퀘트 분)와 알게 되어 정체도 모른 채 데이트를 즐긴다. 그러나 알라바마는 클레런스가 다니는 직장의 사장이 돈을 주고 그를 유혹한 콜걸로 그녀 뒤에는 매춘과 마약조직의 드렉셀이 버티고 있다. 그러나 문제는 두 사람이 데이트에서 사랑을 느꼈고, 결국 클레런스는 악당 드렉셀(게리 올드만 분)을 상대로 싸울 결심을 한다. 그러나 드렉셀은 별볼일 없는 졸개였고 그뒤에는 엄청난 조직의 거물이 도사리고 있어, 이 두 사람은 목숨을 건 일생일대의 모험을 하게 되는데...

틈틈이 도시의 수호자로 활약하며 지내던 데이빗은 납치범 케빈의 존재를 알게 된다. 두 사람은 서로의 비범한 능력을 알아보지만 대결을 마무리 짓기도 전에 엘리 스테이플 박사에 의해 정신병원에 수감된다. 병원에는 두 사람 외에 미스터 글래스도 입원해 있다. 엘리 박사는 이들을 자신이 슈퍼히어로라 믿는 과대망상 환자로 치부한다. 그 와중에 글래스는 자신만의 계획을 실행에 옮긴다. 불행한 히어로 데이빗과 상처 깊은 안티 히어로 케빈의 대결을 부추기고, 슈퍼히어로의 존재를 세상에 알리고자 한다. 그러면서 자신은 배후의 설계자이자 창조자로 남으려 한다.

아내를 마약판매상의 손아귀에 빼앗긴 뒤 평범한 남성이던 주인공은 슈퍼 히어로 크림슨 볼트로 변신한다. 초능력을 갖고 있지는 않지만 크림슨 볼트는 세상을 위해 활동하겠다고 다짐한다. 수퍼히어로 블록버스터만큼이나 이제는 주된 장르로 자리잡은 ‘어눌한 수퍼히어로’ 영화인 "수퍼"는 평범한 현대인의 일상에 대한 날카로운 풍자를 수퍼히어로 영화에 대한 일종의 패러디로 담아낸다. 스매쉬 히트를 기록한 독립 코미디영화 "주노"의 두 스타인 레인 윌슨, 엘렌 페이지가 다시 의기투합한 영화. "아마게돈"의 리브 타일러의 모습도 반갑다.

히어로는 무슨. 하지만 범죄가 슈퍼히어로 스토리를 빼다 박았다면? 신참 형사가 사건 해결을 위해 공조 아닌 공조를 시작한다. 퍼즐 조각에 불과한 연쇄 살인. 그 큰 그림을 볼 수 있는 건 코믹스라면 꽉 잡은 만화 가게 주인뿐이니까.

Welcome to Eltingville takes place in Eltingville, Staten Island, and focuses on the lives of four teenage boys: Bill Dickey, Josh Levy, Pete DiNunzio and Jerry Stokes, all members of "The Eltingville Club", who have shared interests in comic books and science fiction, among other things.
