Matti and Niila, growing up in the mid-sixties in the harsh and conservative environment of a Finnish-speaking part of Tornedalen in Swedish Laponia, close to the Finnish border. Their big dream is to become rock stars. In the present the now grown-up Matti feels guilt for the death of his drug-addicted rock star friend Niila.

TV 문학 토론 프로그램 진행자인 조르쥬(다니엘 오떼유)와 그의 아내 안느 (줄리엣 비노쉬)는 중산층 가정의 평온한 삶을 누리며 살고있다. 어느날 그들에게 자신들의 일상사를 찍은 비디오테이프와 섬뜩한 메시지가 담긴 그림이 배달되고, 그들의 평화로운 일상에 파문이 일기 시작한다. 계속해서 배달되는 비디오테이프와 그림은 점점 더 그들의 은밀하고 사적인 생활들에 관한 내용과 결부되고 그들의 불안은 극으로 치닫는다. 범인만 찾으면 모든 것이 해결되리라 믿었던 그에게 과거의 잊혀졌던 기억들이 하나 둘씩 떠오르게 된다. 어린 시절, 숨기고 싶었던 기억은 악몽이 되어 그에게 돌아오고 조르쥬는 범인을 직접 찾아 나서게 된다. 그러나 범인을 알아낸 순간, 조르쥬는 더욱 끔찍한 진실과 마주하게 되는데....

영화는 자살 시도가 취미인 우울한 부잣집 도령 해롤드와 남의 차를 몰고다니면서 과속하는게 취미인 할머니 모드의 교감에 대한 이야기다. 여기서 포인트는 부잣집 도령님 해롤드에 있다. 소년이 다른 사람을 통해 성장하는걸 줄거리로 봐야할테니까. 이렇게 보면 다른 성장영화와 별로 다르지도 않건만 이 영화는 그보단 과격하다. 예쁘장한 부잣집 아들래미가 자살 시도를 말그대로 취미삼아 한다는 것부터가 심상치 않다. 하지만 그보다 사람들을 놀라게한건 소년에 가까운 젊은 남자와 80세 생일을 며칠 남겨둔 할머니가 연애 같은걸 한다는 줄거리다. 휴 헤프너의 경우처럼 할아버지와 젊은 여자의 로맨스(?)는 보기 어렵지 않지만, 할머니와 청년 커플은 흔하지 않으니까 전복적인 관계인건 사실이다. 그러나 해롤드와 모드는 엄청난 나이차를 잊게할만큼 죽이 잘 맞는다. 비슷한 연상연하 커플인 스타워즈 프리퀄의 파드메와 아나킨처럼 억지로 연애를 하는 것처럼 보이지도 않는다. '해롤드는 모드를 사랑해'에 화답해 '모드도 해롤드를 사랑해'라고하는 고백 장면에서는 어떤 강요된 느낌도 없다. 그저 '우리 서로 사랑하게 해주세요' 이상도 이하도 아닌 평범한 커플일 뿐. 여기서 이 영화의 블랙 코미디가 시작한다. 사람들의 일반적인 기대치를 벗어나도 한참 벗어나는 관계를 시치미 딱 떼고 평범함과 사랑스러움으로 포장했으니...

1959년, 미국 캔자스주 한 농장의 일가족 4명이 두명의 남자에게 잔인하게 살해당한다. 신문에서 기사를 읽은 트루먼 카포티(필립 세이무어 호프만)은 작가적 영감으로 친구 작가 하퍼 리(캐서린 키너)와 함께 이미 사형선고를 받은 두 살인마를 만난다. 두 살인마 중 내성적인 페리(클리프톤 콜린스 주니어)에게 주목한 카포티는 자신의 작품을 완성하기 위해 감방에서 함께 생활하며 인간적인 접근을 시도한다. 페리는 결국 자신과 비슷한 불우한 성장기를 보낸 카포티에게 마음의 문을 열고 사건 당일 밤의 충격적인 사건의 전모를 털어놓기 시작하지만, 자신의 완벽한 기억력으로 사상 최초의 논픽션 소설을 쓰던 카포티는 페리가 결정적인 사실 한가지를 숨기고 있다는 사실을 깨닫게 된다. 사형 집행 2주 전, 자신을 구해줄 사람은 카포티 밖에 없다고 믿고 극단적으로 그에게 매달리는 페리를 외면하던 카포티는 페리에게 극적으로 마지막 사실을 끄집어내는데 성공하고, 소설을 완성하는데만 열중하지만, 사형 집행의 증인으로 페리와 마지막으로 마주하게 되는데…

The story is about Zorro and his best friend Kevin. Zorro, his mother Meta and his older sister Zavanna lives in a messy, run down apartment. Zorro's father is dead and his mother is an alcoholic but despite their situation they share a strong bond. Kevin and his family live in one of the more expensive family homes in the area. Although they are financially well off, the father is a violent man who takes his frustrations out on Kevin, his mother and younger sister. Through Kevin's and Zorro's courage and strong friendship they are able to overcome almost anything.
