성전환자인 브리는 자신의 새로운 정체성을 찾기 위해, 즉 자신을 완벽한 여자로 만들어 줄 마지막 수술비를 벌기 위해, 2개의 직업을 갖고 정신없이 일한다. 그러던 어느 날, 자기가 남자였던 시절 낳았던 아들 토비가 감옥에 있다는 전화를 받게 되자 할 수 없이 신분을 숨긴 채 보석금을 내주고 처음 보는 자신의 아들과 어색하게 대면한다.
