중년의 짐 블로그는 핵전쟁의 위기에 곤란을 겪지만. 그의 아내 힐다는 집안일이 너무 바빠 이에 신경 쓸 틈이 없다. 핵전쟁 시 대처방법에 대한 팜플렛을 가지고 집에 온 짐은 거실에 대피소를 만든다. 그리고 핵폭발이 일어나 짐과 힐다는 대피소로 피신한다. 그러나 대피소를 나온 그들이 마주한 것은 급변한 세상이다. 처음엔 그저 우유와 신문이 언제 다시 배달될까를 궁금해하고 차를 끓일 전력이 없다는 것을 아는 정도였지만, 곧 참상이 그보다 더 심각하다는 것을 깨닫게 된다.

히로시마 출신의 그림 그리기를 좋아하는 한 평범한 소녀 ‘스즈’는 열여덟 살이 되어 산 너머 동네의 ‘호죠 슈사쿠’와 결혼한다. 평범하고도 따뜻한 가정을 꾸리던 ‘스즈’의 삶에 태평양 전쟁이라고 불리는 전쟁이 들이닥치게 되고, ‘스즈’에게 익숙하고 소중했던 것들이 하나둘 빛을 잃어가는데…

Based on a true story, ‘The Goldfish Club’ follows the journey my grandfather, John Wilson took with his crew during World War 2. In the early hours of the 20th January 1945 somewhere over the Adriatic Sea, the Wellington Bomber that 21 year old John was piloting, caught on fire. John made the difficult decision to ditch the plane and have his crew try and escape to a rescue dinghy. They are tested to their emotional and physical limits during the next 71 hours as they try and survive injures, the brutal winter cold and the loss of their dear friend in the crash. 'The Goldfish Club' is an experimental journey into the minds and bodies of those directly affected by war and how people come to cope under extreme stress. 2차 세계대전, 일본의 한 마을에 폭격기로 인한 대공습이 일어난다. 마을이 화염으로 휩싸이자, 14살인 세이타는 부모님과 따로 만나기로 약속한 채 4살짜리 여동생 세츠코를 업고 피신한다. 결국 집과 어머니를 잃고 먼 친척아주머니의 집으로 향하는 세이타와 세츠코. 힘들고 어려운 환경에서도 오빠 세이타는 천진하고 착한 여동생 세츠코를 보면서 희망과 용기를 잃지 않는다. 하지만 시간이 지날수록 친척아주머니의 남매에 대한 냉대는 더욱 심해지고, 세이타는 어머니가 남겨주었던 마지막 여비를 챙겨 세츠코와 함께 산 속에 있는 방공호로 거처를 옮긴다. 두 남매는 산 속 동굴에서 반딧불이를 잡아 불을 밝히고, 물고기와 개구리를 잡아먹으며 살아가는데...

  제2차 세계 대전 중 영국의 한적한 시골에서 혼자 사는 미스 프라이스(Eglantine Price: 안젤라 랜스베리 분)는 마술통신대학에서 마녀 수업을 한 올챙이 마녀인데, 런던 모습으로 전쟁 고아가 된 세 남매 찰리(Charlie: 이안 웨이힐 분)와 캐리(Carrie: 신디 오캘러헌 분), 폴(Paul: 로이 스마트 분)을 떠맡게 된다. 빗자루 타는 연습을 하다 아이들에게 들킨 프라이스는 입막음으로 여행 주문을 폴에게 가르쳐 주는데, 통신 대학이 폐교 됐다는 소식을 듣고 애들과 함께 여행 주문을 이용해 침대를 타고 런던으로 간다. 학장 브라운 교수에게 중요한 마술 주문을 배우기 위한 것이다. 브라운 교수는 그 주문이 적힌 책을 반쪽만 갖고 있는 다른 반쪽을 찾기 위해 시장 거리에 간 프라이스 일행은 헌책방 주인에게서 놀라운 이야기를 듣는다.

Popeye's unconventional torpedo-loading technique get him a mild punishment: he's ordered to stand at attention. Just then, the enemy attacks. He remains at attention, even as a bomb throws him to the top of the mast, where his commander finally notices and orders him to get the planes. Popeye fires on them, but this only draws return fire. He eats his spinach, then turns into a plane himself and attacks.

Milquetoast Henry Limpet experiences his fondest wish and is transformed into a fish. As a talking fish he assists the US Navy in hunting German submarines during World War II.

In commissioning Halas & Batchelor, the War Office recognised the potential of cartoons as an unobtrusive and entertaining medium by which official messages could be conveyed - in this case some rather unsavoury warnings pertaining to foot rot, dysentery and VD. Aimed at soldiers serving in the Far East, the antics of six sprightly soldiers stationed in the jungle illustrate with humour and clarity the potential pitfalls of poor personal hygiene.

The bombing of the American naval base at Pearl Harbor, by a nation he knew only by name, thrust nine-year-old Minoru Fukushima into a world of racism so malevolent he would be forced to leave Canada, the land of his birth. Like thousands of other Japanese Canadians, Minoru and his family were branded as an enemy of Canada, dispatched to internment camps in the interior of British Columbia, and finally deported to Japan. Directed by Michael Fukushima, Minoru's son, the film artfully combines classical animation with archival material. The memories of the father are interspersed with the voice of the son, weaving a tale of suffering and survival, of a birthright lost and recovered.
