젊은 미망인 안나(Anna Leonowens: 데보라 카 분)는 시암(Siam: 태국) 왕의 초청을 받고 아들 루이(Louis Leonowens: 렉스 톰슨 분)와 함께 방콕에 도착하지만 도착한 첫날부터 자신과의 약속을 지키지 않는 왕(King Mongkut of Siam: 율 브린너 분)에게 실망, 영국으로 돌아가려한다. 정숙한 영국 여인 안나는 다소 거칠고 자기밖에 모르는 왕과 사사건건 충돌하지만 그러는 사이 시암의 근대화를 위해 다방면으로 노력하는 왕에게 묘한 애정을 느낀다. 한편, 시암의 왕을 야만인이라고 모함하는 말이 영국 여왕의 귀에 들어가자 왕은 심각한 고민에 빠진다. 이에 안나는 영국 대사에게 성대한 연회를 베풀어 왕이 야만인이 아니라는걸 보여주자고 제안한다. 안나의 지도하에 만찬 주연은 잘 이루어지고, 연회의 하이라이트인 연극은 시암왕에게 선링무롤 바쳐진 링버마의 공주 텁팀(Tuptim: 리타 모레노 분)에 의해 성황리에 끝이나 영국대사 일행에게 깊은 감동을 안겨준다. 하지만 텁팀은 자신을 수행하고 온 사신, 룬타(Lun Tha: 카를로스 리바스 분)와 사랑하는 사이다. 안나의 도움으로 연회 때 톰 아저씨의 오두막을 각색한 텁팀은 자신의 처지를 빗대어 왕에게 의미있는 메시지를 전하지만 왕은 노예를 쫓던 왕의 죽음을 찬미하는 대목에서 크게 분노한다. 텁팀이 도망간 사실을 안 왕은 안나와 크게 언쟁을 하고 결국 안나는 영국으로 돌아갈 것을 결심한다. 이때부터 왕은 잠도 안자고 먹지도 않고 서재에 특어박혀 책만 읽다 병을 얻는다. 왕이 위독해지자 비로소 왕과 화해를 하게 된 안나는 영국으로 떠나는 것을 보류하고 시암의 근대화를 위해 헌신할 것을 약속한다. 왕은 황태자 출라룽콘(Prince Chulalongkorn: 패트릭 아디아티 분)의 신년계획을 들으며 조용히 눈을 감는다.

Max Washington has just been released from prison after serving time for burglary. He returns to his old hangout, a hoofer club. His old girl friend, Amy, who still works at the club as a Tap instructor, is less than thrilled to see him. Her father, Little Mo, is happy to see him, because he has plans for a show involving Max. In addition, Max's old partners in crime have another job for him.

남자 형제만 일곱인 폰티피 집안의 장남 아담은 시내에 생활용품을 구입하러 갔다가 엉망인 집안 살림을 해줄 아내감을 찾기로 결심한다. 한편 여관에서 일하는 밀리는 하는 일에 지쳐 있을 무렵 아담의 청혼을 받게 되고 서로에게 첫눈에 끌린 둘은 그 자리에서 결혼식을 올린다. 달콤한 결혼 생활을 꿈꾸던 밀리는 아담의 집에 도착한 후 아담이 남자 일곱을 위해 일해줄 가정부 같은 여자가 필요했음을 알고는 서글픔을 느끼게 된다. 하지만 그녀는 절망하지 않고 교양이라곤 조금도 없는 제멋대로의 시동생들을 멋쟁이로 만들어 모두 결혼을 시켜야겠다고 결심한다. 야생마 같은 여섯 동생들의 일은 잘 풀리는 것 같았지만 여섯다 마을 소풍때 만났던 아가씨들이 그리워 병이 날 지경이다. 동생들을 위해 아담은 로마인들처럼 여자들을 납치해서 결혼식부터 올리고 보자는 계획을 내고 실행에 옮기는데. 밀리는 아담의 행동을 크게 나무라며 아가씨들을 돌려보내라고 하지만 마음과 통하는 길이 눈사태로 막혀 어쩔 수 없이 눈이 녹을 때까지 함께 있을 수 밖에 없는 상황이 된다. 겨울이 킨 탓에 그동안 아가씨들은 형제들을 좋아하게 되고 눈이 녹아 길이 뚫리자 돌려보내려 하지만 돌아가길 거부하고 결국 여섯 형제와 아가씨들은 행복한 합동 결혼식을 올리게 된다.

Izabella Scorupco plays Carla, who is a con-artist somewhere in mediavel Sweden. Carla is disguised as a man and she is selling a "product" called Petri tårar (Tears of St. Peter). This product cures every sickness. In order to promote her product she promises to wake up from the dead all citizens of the town who have died within the last ten years. Both the bishop and the mayor are alarmed as they fear loss of influence over them and try to work against Carla. There are also many citizens who don't want to see their "loved ones" wake up from the dead. In order to make things more confusing, Carla and the son of the mayor, Mark, fall in love with each other.

Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, London Live showing of Verdi's Traviata with subsequent re-screenings Violetta, a Parisian courtesan suffering from tuberculosis, is throwing a party to celebrate her recovery. A young nobleman, Alfredo, plans to attend, and has long been in love with Violetta. Before long, Violetta has fallen for him as well, but Alfredo's father disapproves of their relationship. He convinces Violetta to leave Alfredo for the sake of his family's image, not realising how ill she really is. Richard Eyre's production of 'La Traviata' immerses the audience in the indulgence of 19th Century Paris, a vivid setting for Verdi's famous score.

This 2021 Deutsche Oper Berlin performance is directed by Christof Loy and stars soprano Sara Jakubiak in the title role. Riccardo Zandonai’s Francesca da Rimini is a four-act opera set during the Renaissance period. The plot concerns an arranged marriage between Francesca and Giovanni, also known as Gianciotto, who is impersonated by his handsome brother Paolo, and with whom Francesca falls passionately in love.

Coffee Masters is a documentary by Miguel Kohan, produced by Lita Stantic, Gustavo Santaolalla and Walter Salles. It tells the story of great tango of the old guard who, summoned by a rock musician, proposing a record to demonstrate its validity. This adventure, full of memories, humor and poignant moments, culminating with a presentation of the Masters at the Teatro Colon.

Shrek The Musical is a musical with music by Jeanine Tesori and book and lyrics by David Lindsay-Abaire. It is based on the 2001 DreamWorks Animation's film Shrek and William Steig's 1990 book Shrek! It was nominated for 8 Tony Awards including Best Musical.

Black and white footage of performances, interviews, and conversations at the Newport Folk Festival, from 1963 to 1966. The headliners are Peter, Paul and Mary, Joan Baez, Pete Seeger, and Bob Dylan, who's acoustic and electric. Son House and Mike Bloomfield talk about the blues; John Hurt, Howlin' Wolf, and Sonny Terry and Brownie McGhee show its range. The Osborne Brothers perform bluegrass. Donovan, Johnny Cash, Judy Collins, Mimi and Dick Farina, and others less well known also perform. Several talk musical philosophy, and there's a running commentary about the nature and appeal of folk music. The crowd looks clean cut.

Adapted and directed by Peter Brook from the Royal Shakespeare Company’s ‘production-in-progress US’, this long-unseen agitprop drama-doc – shot in London in 1967 and released only briefly in the UK and New York at the height of the Vietnam War – remains both thought-provoking and disturbing. A theatrical and cinematic social comment on US intervention in Vietnam, Brook’s film also reveals a 1960s London where art, theatre and political protest actively collude and where a young Glenda Jackson and RSC icons such as Peggy Ashcroft and Paul Scofield feature prominently on the front line. Multi-layered scenarios staged by Brook combine with newsreel footage, demonstrations, satirical songs and skits to illustrate the intensity of anti-war opinion within London’s artistic and intellectual community.
