초대형 풋볼 게임에 참가하기 위해 길을 떠난 칼리(엘리샤 쿠스버트 분)와 페이지(패리스 힐튼 분)를 비롯한 6명의 친구들. 가는 도중 어두워져, 인근 숲에서 하룻밤 야영을 하게 된다. 모두들 흥겨운 마음으로 캠핑을 즐기지만 칼리만 유독, 남자친구 웨이드(자레드 페이다레키)와 자신의 쌍둥이 남동생인 닉(채드 마이클 머레이) 사이의 냉랭한 분위기를 진정시키기 위해 진땀을 뺀다. 그러나 곧이어, 야영지에 나타난 의문의 트럭 한 대. 헤드라이트를 일행에게 비춰보더니 이내 사라져버리고, 때문에 일행들은 찝찝한 기분으로 하룻밤을 보내게 된다. 다음날 아침, 일행들은 자신들이 타고 온 차를 누군가가 고의로 고장 낸 것을 발견한다. 그리고 마침 지나가는 한 주민의 차를 얻어 타고 가장 가까운 마을인 암브로스로 향하게 된다. 그곳에서 그들은 실제 사람들과 똑같은 모습의 밀랍인형들을 전시해 놓은 '트루디의 밀랍의 집'이라는 곳을 발견하고는 놀라움을 금치 못한다. 러나 놀라움도 잠시, 일행들은 마을에 이상하게도 사람들이 보이지 않는 것을 깨닫는다. 보이는 것이라고는 오직 사람보다 더 사람 같은 밀랍인형들뿐... 그리고 이윽고 밀랍인형들이 실제 사람처럼 보이는 충격적인 이유를 알게 된다. 마을의 숨겨진 엄청난 비밀이 하나씩 드러나고, 일행들 하나하나는 의문의 살인자에게 쫓겨 생존을 위한 치열한 혈투를 벌이게 된다. 과연 이들은 암브로스를 벗어날 수 있을 것인가, 아니면 밀랍인형의 집에 영원히 갇혀 또 다른 밀랍인형 신세가 되고 말 것인가... 심장 하나로는 견딜 수 없는 엄청난 공포!! 그 충격적인 사투, 감히 견딜 수 있겠는가!

밀랍 인형으로 역사 속 아름다운 장면들을 재현하는 탐미 예술가 제로드는 주식 투자가 버크의 투자로 작품 활동세계를 하고 있다. 그러던 어느날 버크는 제로드의 예술 활동이 돈벌이가 되지 않자 전시장에 불을 내어 화재 보험을 타자고 제의한다. 하지만 제로드는 버크의 제의를 거절하고, 둘은 몸싸움 끝에 전시장에는 화재가 나고 만다. 하지만 제로드는 미처 그곳을 빠져 나오지 못한다. 그 후 버크는 화재 보험으로 연인 캐시와 여행갈 준비를 하던 중 살해를 당하는 사건이 발생한다.

세라와 마크는 밀납 인형이 전시되어 있는 밀납 박물관에 갔다가 그곳 인형들이 살아 움직이는 것을 보게 되고, 그 때문에 박물관은 불타고 말았다. 그런데 그곳에 있던 손 하나가 살아 움직여 세라와 마크를 따라와 세라의 의붓아버지를 죽인다. 세라는 재판을 받게 되고, 재판실에 있던 사람들이 이런 사실을 믿어줄리 없는 상황. 마크는 앉아서 당할 수 없다고 생각, 알프레드경이 살던 집에 가서 요술의 거울을 통해 시간속으로 들어간다.세라와 함께 다른 시간에 있는 자들과 싸우면서 그 손의 주인공을 찾으려 하지만 시간의 문이 너무 좁아 세라만 세상으로 나오고 마크는 그 안에 혼자 남는다. 결국 세라는 유죄판결을 받지만, 어떤 사람으로부터 시간을 초월할 수 있는 시계를 소포로 받아 마크가 있는 그곳으로 돌아간다.

전작의 엔딩에서 악령들이 득실거리는 밀랍 인형 박물관을 불타오르고 주인공 마크와 세라는 모든 일이 끝났다고 안심하며 집으로 돌아가지만 그 둘이 모르는 사이에 스스로 움직이는 사람의 잘린 손(?) 악령이 박물관을 빠져나와, 세라의 집까지 쫓아가서는 그녀의 계부를 망치로 때려죽이는데 정작 피해자인 세라가 아버지 살인의 누명을 쓰면서 그 모든 오해를 풀기 위해 다시 차원을 넘어 시간을 뛰어넘는 여행을 하면서 벌어지는 이야기

영화는 아이반 아이고어라는 조각가가 세운 런던의 밀랍 인형 박물관에서 시작된다. 박물관의 상업적 성과에 실망한 그의 동업자는 화재 보험으로 투자한 돈을 회수하기 위해 박물관에 불을 지르고 아이고어는 그 안에 갇히고 말죠. 프롤로그가 끝나면 영화는 십여년의 세월과 대서양을 건너뛰어 1933년의 뉴욕으로 관객들을 끌고 갑니다. 기삿거리가 떨어져 해고 직전인 맹렬 신문기자 플로렌스는 조운 게일이라는 여자의 살인사건을 수사하다가 지난 몇 개월 동안 일어난 일련의 연쇄 살인사건과 마주치게 되는데, 이 사건의 공통점은 살인사건 이후 모두 시체들이 사라졌다는 것이었죠. 화재로 불구가 된 아이반 아이고어가 뉴욕에 세운 밀랍 인형 박물관에 조운 게일과 이상할 정도로 닮은 잔 다르크의 인형이 전시되어 있다는 걸 알아차린 플로렌스는 아이고어가 그 살인사건들과 어떤 관련이 있다고 믿게 됩니다. 그러는 동안 아이고어는 플로렌스의 룸메이트인 샬롯에게 마리 앙트와네트 밀랍 인형의 모델이 되어달라고 부탁하죠.

Experimenting in hypnotic regression to past lives, Dr. Edmund Redding of the Cowan Institute in Pasadena has discovered that Ann Taylor is a reincarnated Aztec woman. Via her recovered memories, she is able to lead Redding and his associates to a hidden chamber in the Great Pyramid of Yucatan, where they hope to find the lost treasure of the Aztecs. Instead, they find two mummified bodies - one of a modern man, quite dead, and the other of an ancient Aztec, quite alive. They are able to return safely to Pasadena with both finds, but a rival professor, Janney, kills Redding and steals the body of the modern man-mummy. This he subjects to a resurrection experiment, which works - only the mummy proves to be a werewolf. Two supernatural menaces roam the city that night. This film is composed of footage from two unrelated Mexican horror movies, LA CASA DEL TERROR and LA MOMIA AZTECA, plus new footage shot in the U.S. by Jerry Warren.

A child is traumatized when his father, a stuntman, dies in an attempt to go over Niagara Falls. Later, his mother meets and marries a truck driver, and things seem to be going OK. Then the new husband's creepy brother shows up, and the boy begins to get a sense that neither of the brothers is quite what they claim to be.
