Kitten Party (2010)

월트 디즈니의 27번째 만화영화. 이 작품은 흥행면에서 상당히 우수한 성적을 거둔 작품으로서 역시 컴퓨터 그래픽이 많이 개입된 작품입니다. 여기서 컴퓨터 그래픽이라고 하는 것은 컴퓨터가 만든 이미지를 애니메이션에 합성하여 나타나는 것 뿐 아니라, 채색, 셀제작 과정 등에 활용되는 것도 포함하는 것이다. 현대의 인건비 상승이 애니메이션 제작에 압박 요인으로 작용하는 상황에서 이 방법은 제작비를 절감토록 하여 좋은 작품의 개발에 무척 도움을주는 방향으로 작용한다.   이제 디즈니 스튜디오는 흔들거리던 모습을 차츰 재 정비하는 방향으로 나아가고 있었다. 전작인 의 성공을 통해 제작 능력에 대한 자신감을, 으로서 아직 만화영화의 시장에 충분한 잠재력이 존재하고 있음을 확인하였고, 마침내 오랜만에 흥행의 성공작을 만들어 내었다.   찰스 디킨스의 소설을 각색하여 뉴욕을 무대로 바꾸엇다. 고아인 고양이 올리버는 맨하탄의 깡패 다져에게 끌려가 소매치기와 어울리는데 그들의 두목은 악당 페긴이다. 부잣집 딸 제니가 올리버를 데려다자기집에서 키우자, 페긴의 한패인 사이크스가 제니와 올리버를 납치하고친구들이 이들을 구출한다.   페이건은 디킨스의 원작에서 아이들에게 소매치기 훈련을 시키는 것처럼 개들에게 도둑질을 가르치는 사람이다. 이것이 아마도 올리버와 친구들이 올리버 트위스트와 가지는 유일한 공통점일 것이지만, 그것은 큰 문제는 되지 않는다.

악명 높은 살인마 마이클 마이어스가 자신의 조카를 스토킹해서 살해한다. 마이클의 광기어린 살인 행각에 정신적 충격을 받은 제이미는 정신병원에 들어간다. 실어증 상태의 그녀는 마이클이 어디에 나타나서 다시 살해할지 투시하게 된다. 자신의 살인을 방해하는 그녀와 루미 박사를 막으려고 마이클이 나타나지만, 이들의 반격도 만만치는 않다.

1910년 파리, 고양이 더치스와 그녀의 새끼 세 마리는 부유한 마나님 댁에서 더할 나위 없는 생활을 하고 있다. 안락한 보금자리, 최고급 식사는 물론이고, 자기 개발을 위해 꼬마 숙녀 마리와 장난꾸러기 베를리오즈는 음악 공부를, 터프한 꼬마 뚤루즈는 미술 공부를 할 정도다. 홀로 되신 마님은 더치스와 새끼 고양이들을 너무나 사랑해 모든 유산을 고양이들 앞으로 남기겠다는 유언장까지 작성한다. 만약 고양이들이 모두 죽는다면 오랜 동안 마님의 곁에서 일해온 집사 에드가에게 그 유산이 돌아가도록 했다. 문제는 에드가가 이 유언장의 내용을 엿들어버린 것인데...

클라렌스와 렐, 사촌지간인 둘은 착하고 성실하지만 세상 물정에는 그리 밝지 못하다. 어느 날 렐이 우연히 키우게 된 귀여운 고양이 키아누를 도둑맞게 된다. 소중한 키아누를 데려간 것이 갱단의 소행이었다는 것을 알게된 둘은 무자비한 킬러 행세를 하고 잃어버린 고양이를 되찾아오기로 한다. 그러나 키아누의 거부할 수 없는 치명적인 매력에 모두 흠뻑 취해 고양이 쟁탈전이 갱들의 전쟁으로 커지게 되는데…

오랜 역사를 자랑하는 인구 2천만 명의 거대 항구도시 이스탄불은 각국 선원들이 키우던 다양한 고양이들이 한자리에 모이는 특별한 도시다. 여기에 고양이를 포함한 동물들을 소중히 대하는 사람들의 인식까지 더해져 이스탄불은 고양이들이 사람들과 함께 어울려 살아가는 공간으로 자리잡았다. 카메라는 도시의 골목골목, 둥글고 뾰족한 지붕 위, 분주한 시장과 고즈넉한 바닷가 등을 누비며 7마리의 길냥이를 따라간다. 캣 맘, 캣 대디를 자처하는 이들은 고양이를 보살피면서 치유와 안식을 얻었음을, 오히려 돌봄을 당하고 있다며 이구동성 각각의 사연을 풀어놓는다.

Someone drops off three cute little kittens; Tom is put in charge of them while Mammy goes shopping. But behind her back, the three little angels are real devils.

Elmer Fudd takes in Sylvester Cat and an orange kitten during a cold winter night. He'd like to adopt them both but can only keep one. He decides to go to bed and make up his mind in the morning. Sylvester and the kitten both want to be the one who is adopted. So, each tries to "frame" the other for misdeeds in hopes of swaying Elmer's decision in their favor. The noise escalates to the point that all three- Sylvester, the kitten, and Elmer too- are evicted and must scrounge for food in trash cans.

Marc Antony must convince his owner that Pussyfoot is a great mouser to keep him in the house.

Tom, complete with mortarboard, is teaching a kitten the basics: "cats chase mice." But Jerry keeps subverting this lesson at every opportunity.

A kitten runs off to be a robber with a dog.

Bulldog Marc Anthony is a guard at a construction site. He finds a kitten, Pussyfoot, to whom he affectionately gives a wiener for lunch. A hungry, grown cat sees the wiener and tries to take it from Pussyfoot. So, in defense of his kitten friend, Marc Anthony fights the cat on the steal beams of the partly constructed skeleton of a building.

The three little kittens have lost their mittens and are sent to bed without dinner. From their room, they see the Milky Way and sail up to it, using a basket and helium balloons, passing through some fanciful astronomical bodies, until they reach a Milky Way filled with every conceivable form of milk.

A lazy and fat cat, named Dodsworth, is ordered by his mistress to catch mice that have invaded her home and are terrorizing her. Dodsworth doesn't want to condescend to personal physical effort to catch the mice, so dons a professor's hat and dupes a kitten into doing the job for him, on the pretext that he's a teacher who is giving the kitten a valuable learning experience.

Lazy Dodsworth the Cat wants to catch a woodpecker for his breakfast. The woodpecker has built its home inside the upper trunk of a very tall tree, and Dodsworth puts on a professor's cap, pretending to be a passive teacher of bird-catching and thereby deceive an eager-to-learn kitten into doing the perilous ascending of the tree to try to catch the woodpecker. The true fact, is Dodsworth's schemes were deceptive and deceiving the kitten, throughout.

A "documentary film crew" captures history unfolding, as a disgraced, but kind-hearted fertility specialist, Dr. William Han, tries to restart his career, embarking on a breakthrough medical trial in which four women will give birth to kittens!!!

It is believed that cats are just indifferent and egotistic; but they are more complex, interesting and even cuter than is commonly imagined. The astonishing process by which a newborn kitten becomes a fully grown cat reveals the amazing and true secret life of cats.

After Claude frames Marc Antony, making it look like the bulldog ate the kitty, Marc must try various methods of getting back at Claude from outside the yard.
